The Youth Business International Bootcamp is taking place in London, UK, 17-21
June 2024.
The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit is taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, in
October 2024. More information will be provided on this site in late January.
YBI will cover flights, visas, accommodation and catering for Bootcamp participants. We will also cover the flights, visa, and accommodation for the nine finalists attending the pitch day and awards ceremony at the Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit.
We will ask you to let us know your requirements as part of the application form and aim to accommodate participants where we can. When we release venue details, please check back for further accessibility information.
The Bootcamp application form should be completed by the young entrepreneur wishing to attend. YBI will then contact the member they have said they are working with to verify their information.
Prize values to be determined. The minimum prize for the highest winner will be a $10,000 grant.
We welcome applications from refugees and other migrants and will review them on a case-by-case basis due to country-specific laws.
Entrepreneurs will need a minimum of intermediate spoken and written English to fully participate.
Applications are open 5 January to 16 February 2024.
The detailed overview will be provided to participants and their supporting members once attendees have been selected. This website is the best source of information for applicants. If you have any questions while applying that are not answered here, please contact us at bootcamp@youthbusiness.org.
Only one representative per business can attend the bootcamp and be eligible to win the Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. However, the monetary prize is to be spent on the winning business so benefits both founders.
Yes, we would love to have you on board. We are looking for a range of collaborators and supporters for networking events and training sessions. Please get in touch if you would like to participate: bootcamp@youthbusiness.org. Please note that YBI can only cover full expenses for Bootcamp participants.
As there are only 30 places at the Bootcamp, we suggest that members encourage their top candidates with the best chance of being selected to apply. This number may vary from organisation to organisation, but we recommend focusing on a small group of the most relevant youth businesses, likely 5-10.
No, you are not expected to accompany the young entrepreneur. YBI are only able to accommodate the 30 participants at the Bootcamp.
Yes.
YBI is a global network of enterprise support organisations (our members) working together to support underserved young entrepreneurs around the world. One of the exclusive benefits of being a member is that young entrepreneurs who have taken part in our member’s programmes or received support from them are eligible for a range of opportunities, including our Bootcamp. This Bootcamp is about celebrating and supporting young entrepreneurs who are supported by our members and have participated in YBI network activities, therefore we can only accept applications from young entrepreneurs who our members can verify have participated in their programmes.
YBI will provide a completion certificate at the end of the Bootcamp week.
Unfortunately, YBI are not able to provide translators for this event. Participants will need to be proficient in English to attend.
The YBI member that you name on your application form will be contacted and asked to confirm that you are working with them as well as other eligibility information that you have provided.
We aim to inform all applicants whether they have been accepted to the Bootcamp within a month of applications closing.
The cohort will have access to an online community tool so that you can stay connected with one another after returning home. YBI will also give participants a task for the months following the Bootcamp to encourage you to put the new skills you have gained into practice.
We will ask you to let us know your requirements as part of the application form and aim to accommodate participants where we can. When we release venue details, please check back for further accessibility information.
Yes. As a Bootcamp participant, you will be automatically entered into the Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. All nine finalists are invited to attend the Summit where the overall winner will be announced. You would therefore need to be available for both the Bootcamp and the Summit if you are an award finalist, so must confirm you can attend both events in person during application.
Unfortunately, the age range is a hard criterion, and we cannot accept your application unless you are born between 1 November 1989 and 1 January 2006. Youth Business International focuses our efforts on entrepreneurs aged 18-35, meaning that Bootcamp attendees would need to be within this age range until a year after the Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards later this year as we will continue to promote any winners for at least a year (while they are potentially continuing to receive support from a YBI member).
